“Cambridge University rescinds Jordan Peterson invitation”
The people quoted clearly lack the insight or awareness to self-diagnose, but the hypocrisy, racism and sexism here is pretty impressive:
““[Cambridge] is an inclusive environment and we expect all our staff and visitors to uphold our principles. There is no place here for anyone who cannot,” a spokesperson for the university said.”
Hypocrisy: “inclusive environment… There is no place here for anyone who cannot.”
Racism, sexism: “Professors at Cambridge voiced their opinion about the decision, with Dr Priyamvada Gopal sharing her views…
“The truth is Cambridge just doesn’t have enough sage authoritative white men who believe they know better than everyone else and can tell the world how to run itself. We need to ship them in from outside.””
You can be pretty sure that the hypocritical, racist and sexist commentators will be safe in their jobs at Cambridge and will continue “upholding our principles”.
Toby Young is hit-and-miss as an analyst, but he has it right here when he refers to Cambridge University — “an ‘inclusive environment’… that means an environment in which everyone looks different but thinks exactly the same”.
